Recording hangs on 'stopping recording' screen then saves corrupt .mp4 file.

My 9 yr old was recording 'Minecraft Dungeons' yesterday and the approx 30 minute recording froze on the 'stopping recording' dialogue box. We had to eventually close the application and when we relaunched there was nothing in the 'recordings' tab, but there was an 8gb .mp4 file in the folder. This however was not recognised by mp4 players and so is unplayable. I've submitted a report. Is there any way I can rescue the video or fix the problem? I have a very upset 9 yr old!!! Thank you!

If recording hasn't managed to finish ,the MP4 file will be incomplete and that is why it is unplayable.
