It does not let me stop my recording!

If I try to record something, the icon shows up in my game, but when I press Ctrl F12, it the FPS says -- and the time says 00:00. If I try to stop the recording with the hotkeys, it does absolutely nothing. I really need help here, I've been looking for a good recorder for a while and I really had faith in this one.
