FBX only recording at 30 FPS

  • I'm using an AMD encoder
    I have an Rx 580 and an i5 7500 and 16gb ram
When I play a game it usually has 60+ FPS on high settings but as soon as I click play on the recorder the FPS drops to 30 and goes from 30 to 25 and sometimes to 40,at least that's what fbx is showing , WHY? And when I click on pause the FPS goes back to normal and when I click on resume it goes back to 30,and I did set the FPS to be at 60 in the FBX settings menu but it still records at 30 FPS,i also tried putting everything on low settings in the game but there is only 5-6 FPS change,I really need a response here please

    UPDATE
when I used the Intel quick sync then the FPS goes up to 40-45

Ok. Try selecting a lower resolution than "Original" in the Resolution setting in the Video Settings tab, and/or lower FPS than 60, and you should see an improvement in performance.

  • I did set the the resolution from original to 1080p (which is my monitors resolution) nothing changed, and I don't want to record in 720p cuz I record gameplay for YouTube (I never tried setting it to 720p so I don't know if it will improve,I will try and see,but I still really prefer recording in 1080p) and I don't understand what you mean by lowering FPS other than 60 when I want to record in 60fps

Lowering the resolution or FPS would be two ways to improve performance. Your PC is having difficulty playing the game and encoding it at full res and FPS, I'm afraid.

  • @FBX-Recorder I did try lowering the FPS from 60 to 30 but nothing changed lmao ,it was 30 before so it just stayed in 30 when I changed it to 30

We're looking at ways to improve the performance of the AMD encoder, but for now the only way of improving performance are the FPS and Resolution options, and trying to pick the best Encoder.
