virus?

so i wanted to record a video and when i had it open after a few minutes avast pooped up saying "wirus detected helperx64 is malicious to delete it please power off youre pc and power on again" so i did and now fbx wont open? does that mean fbx is a virus trying to get data off me so they can sell it for cash on the dark web?

ill be using obx for now but damn ill have shit encoding

That file is what adds FBX's overlay on top of your game. FBX cannot run without it. It is not malicious at all. It is a false positive result by Avast. They happen from time to time.

well if it is a false positive why do i get warnings when saving files on my pc about it trying to delete it or do something else on it and when i open a new tab in my browser it says helperx64 is infected with something that started on IPD i think and it apperantly wants to steal my data? so i moved it to quarantine and now i cant even turn on fbx.

Because that is what a false-positive is - when the anti-virus software mistakenly thinks an app or file will try to do those things when it doesn't really. That file is not going to delete anything, it will not infect your PC and it won't try to steal your data. It is just trying to add FBX's overlay into your game so you can record. Without it FBX won't work.

@FBX-Recorder okay ill try but i still am kinda curious why it all started since an update i think 3.9? but brefore that update it wasnt detecting nothing wrong? so im kinda suspicious and i wont use it unless this gets fixed because this is all kinda sketchy to me atm sorry!

Anti-virus software change and update their virus definitions all the time. If it not uncommon for that to cause new false-positives to occur.
If you don't want to use FBX any more, that is fine, but there really is nothing to fix on our end as FBX is completely virus free.
