why doesn't my controller work with FBX?

Have you changed any of the settings in DS4Windows from their defaults?
Are you using it wired or via bluetooth?

my controller is being plugged into my gaming PC using the ps4 charging chord, isthat considered wired? if so, wired and it wont even let me into ds4windows, just some where do want this thing to go and then it closes

Yes, that is wired. We've test DS4Windows while FBX is running and it runs fine for us with the default settings. Have you customized any of the settings within DS4Windows?

And you can't remember if you made any changes or not?

yes and yes, i installed ds4 windows about a week and a half after i got my laptop, in June of 2018 so i dont remember

If it doesn't work even when FBX is not running, then FBX is not the cause of the problem.
