I realize this is an old thread but I second this.

If you want to be able to press a button that will capture a clip of what has just happened, you need to be already recording in order to do that. There is no way to save a clip if you were not already recording.

You can set the hotkey to save a clip while recording on the Hotkeys tab of the Settings and you can set the duration of the clip in the Options tab of the Settings.

Shame I can't upvote that, I agree exactly.

As for you, I'm used to cut videos and change the added audio with Video Cutter Tool, since it is much difficult for me to follow the command prompt. So easy program with several click to fix all issues is the best choice for me.

Ok. Noted. We'd like to enable users to combine videos.
