  We're going to pin this as we are getting lots of questions about it at the moment.

  To summarise:

  Tencent Gaming Buddy has a number of different Rendering settings and whilst any of the DirectX or OpenGL options should be compatible with FBX, we've found that some of them can give inconsistent results so the default option may not always be the best to use.

  For example, on Windows 7, Tencent Gaming Buddy doesn't seem to actually use DirectXl, even when one of those options is selected. If it isn't using DirectX, FBX cannot detect it to let you record it.

  We've found that OpenGL+ is the most reliable, so if you're not seeing the overlay, we recommend that you give that one a try.

  @LifeYT Can you wait 10 seconds for the FBX overlay to appear. If its definitely not appearing, go to the Support tab and send us a report - we'll take a look.

  @circuitbreak Hi. We don't seem to have any performance data for your account. Can you run FBX, make a quick recording, stop it and then use the 'Send Report' feature on the Support tab. This will give us some information about your PC.

  In general, to improve performance, make sure you're selecting a hardware encoder in the Encoder setting on the Video tab, and don't set too high an FPS - reduce it if you're having problems.

  Hi. We're going to fix FBX so it correctly stops the video on hibernation. Could take a week or two before this is in a release though.

  Hmm, it's very strange that the webcam preview works ok but then it fails whilst recording. If you do the following, we'll see if we can get to the bottom of it for you:

  Go to the Support tab and select Verbose in the Log level drop down. Attempt another recording with your webcam enabled. After ending the recording session, return to the Support tab and use the 'Send a problem report' option.

  Rust makes use of EasyAntiCheat which blocks 3rd party applications from accessing the game's processes to prevent players from using hacks and cheats. FBX has been whitelisted by EasyAntiCheat this morning, so as updates filter out to any games that include it, FBX support will be added.

  So somehow i got it to work, but remember it said "no lag" on the description of this software? But there is lots of lag! It dropped right from 45 to 1 frame per second! And worst of all after stopping the recording my whole laptop crashed...

  Well first i tried roblox and it didn't work, so i went onto steam and tried to record a windowed game...didn't work either.

  FBX will automatically look for specific processes to identify if what you have on screen is a game or not. If it detects that it is, the overlay should appear on the game when it is either the active window or running fullscreen - so just be aware that if you are playing in windowed mode and click on to another window, the overlay will temporarily disappear until you click back on to the game window.

  We've tried out OSU! and FBX detected and recorded it no problem, so if you are not seeing the overlay when you are in the game, can you use the 'Send a problem report' on FBX's Support tab to send us a a set of log files please? We'll take a look at those to try to figure out what's going on.

  If you update any of the settings, those changes should be saved. As you say, it's a pain having to redo them each and every time.

  If you change some settings, close the app and then restart it (without rebooting), does the same thing happen then too? Or is it only after a reboot that settings revert to default?

  Can you reproduce the problem once more and then immediately use the 'Send a problem report' option on the Support tab to send us an error report please? We'll take a look at the log files that will be included in that to see if we can see the cause of your settings being reverted.

  On the Settings tab, can you switch the Encoder setting to 'Software H264 Encoder' and then give that a try? Does that record any better?

  Hi. We've taken a look at the logs. It seems that FBX may not have closed down properly previously, and this is preventing it from recording. You shouldn't have any problems recording Minecraft and FS2.

  A Windows restart should fix the problem. Sounds like you may have done this already, but if it happens again, try restarting Windows and let us know if this cures it.

  We've had a response from Battleye and FBX is now whitelisted. PUBG is now recording ok for us, so give it go and let us know if you still have any problems.

  We've just tested Rainbow Six Siege and can confirm that FBX is no longer blocked by Battleye. If you still have any problems with it, let us know.
